Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a delightful Christmas in July card featuring the Welcoming Window Bundle and Poinsettia Petals Bundle with Hippo & Friends Dies, Scalloped Contours Dies, and the returning Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper + Wonderful Gems, from the 2020 Holiday Catalog, for SUOC 280, Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges, and hope that you join us!
This was so much fun to create. I have on board maybe 20-25% of our products at any given time, since I’m a total minimalist. This forces me to be more creative with what I have and to pick and choose very wisely coordinating products to stretch my stash so I can create whatever I want. All of the products used for this card are in our current Annual Catalog or carried over from 2020 that I held onto.
Our retirement lists are extremely important to keep up with, as well as sales, free shipping, promotions, etc.
Being a minimalist, I live in a 907 sf cottage, that I absolutely love. Every single piece of furniture or accessory I own MUST have storage and definitely be multi-purpose. I won’t even buy a new tube of toothpaste until I’m down to a few days left. I’m pretty militant about that.
I use the above strategy, pictured with all I have to work with, which is all I have in my craft room that extends to the rest of my cottage; which almost always forces me out of the box, like today’s project. I’m not good with clutter or too much stuff.
As always, your Supplies and Instructions are below.
This card is a different size at 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 Basic White Thick. I layered on 2 patterns of designer series paper from Heartwarming Hugs, which carried over from the 2020 Holiday Catalog. The holly berry pattern at the top was cut with a Scalloped Contour Die with the striped Real Red pattern at the bottom.
I always lay everything out to make sure it looks right before I cut and adhere. Once the DSP was adhered with Seal, I wrapped Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim around the DSP 3x a little bit above the scalloped panel. Directly above that, I tied a length of Real Red Sheer Ribbon bowed at the far right.
I built up the image/sentiment panel from the Welcoming Window Bundle of the vase, flowers, and shelf. The sentiment and greenery behind the shelf are from the Poinsettia Petals Bundle, which is another carryover from the 2020 Holiday Catalog.
I cut the large frame Hippo & Friends Dies from Basic White Regular and again, started to layer up this image and sentiment panel.
I cut apart the Merry Christmas sentiment from Poinsettia Petals and first stamped ‘Christmas’ in Memento Tuxedo Black at the bottom center of the frame and then stamped ‘Merry’ above that.
The shelf was cut from textured Soft Suede CS that was leftover from way back, which can now be easily created or replicated with any of our embossing folders.
The vase and flowers were all stamped on Basic White Regular in Smoky Slate for the vase, Mossy Meadow for the greenery, and Real Red for the flowers; all of which were cut with their coordinating dies from Window Flower Box.
After arranging the images onto the frame, the greenery from Poinsettia Petals was stamped across the panel with Pear Pizzazz ink so I could adhere the shelf pretty much center with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The vase and flowers were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I adhered 3 Wonderful Gems in Real Red on the frame and then adhered it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I know sometimes all of this can sound really complicated and a lot of work, but it’s really not. That is the beauty of our products. They ALL perfectly and beautifully coordinate. All you need is your imagination. If you’re in a creative rut, we have amazing Concept Art for you to copy and/or tweak to your vision.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
