Timeless Tropical Monochrome Card Set

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a card set made with Timeless Tropical.

Tropical home decor is really prevalent this spring. I saw some bath towels at Bed Bath & Beyond the other day that resulted in this card set. These cards are great set with just enough subtle changes amongst them to keep it interesting. On the pineapple card, I flipped the Whisper White Coastal Weave EF so that it was more indented than raised. I kept the colors monochromatic in all of the cards with one color added for contrast. There’s fabulous texture and dimension with elements sponged and curled up for extra depth. The card base and ink is 1 color darker than the sentiment strip and images. All of the cards have a little Tropical Oasis Trinket accent.

The above card has a Terracotta Tile card base with a Grapefruit Grove sentiment strip and flowers. The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede, as were the Crumb Cake leaves. The flowers were stamped in Terracotta Tile. This is the pattern that I used on all 3 cards.

I stacked the pineapple die-cuts 4x and inked the edges 1 shade darker for this card. The card base is Crushed Curry with the sentiment strip and bottom of the pineapple in Daffodil Delight. The pineapple was sponged with Crushed Curry ink and the top in Mossy Meadow, that was die-cut from Old Olive. The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive with the same color of twine tied into a bow from a Paper Pumpkin kit.

The palm tree card has an Early Espresso card base and stamped sentiment with a Soft Suede sentiment strip. The palm trees are stamped in Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso onto Old Olive and Soft Suede CS. They were die-cut out and then fussy-cut to separate the tops of the palms from the trunk. The trunks were glued down with the palm tops on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also did this with the Crumb Cake/Soft Suede leaves on the first card. I will be creating another monochrome card with a twist in tomorrow’s video.
