Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 302, where we have a kids theme for you today and hope that you participate.
There are some great projects and inspiration over on the SUO Blog with multiple themes and designs that I encourage you to browse.
I created a great boy birthday card for our challenge today. I punched out the images for the sailboat from the color vellum that I demonstrated for you in today’s video from the Let’s Set Sail Bundle.
I shared this video with you a few weeks ago, but I needed to complete a project that was made from the Stampin’ Blends and Layering Vellum Designs technique.
I started out with an A2 card base in Starry Sky. I cut a piece of Mint Macaron for a mat and Basic White CS for the image panel.
I stamped the sentiments on the image panel with Starry Sky ink and used my Heat Tool to set the ink. This is a beautiful, but fussy color. Heat setting or using clear embossing powder and heat setting any stamped image or sentiment guarantees that your ink will not smear.
The image panel was then embossed with the Cascading Ruffles 3D EF, that features a fabulous pattern that can be used for waves, mountains, or anything else you conceptualize.
The sailboat was punched out from the vellum technique shown in the video with Stampin’ Dimensionals added to the back of the sailboat.
I stamped the water image in Tahitian Tide with the reflection in Starry Sky.
For final assembly, I adhered the image panel to the Mint Macaron CS with liquid adhesive.
I cut a length of Tahitian Tide In Color Basic Twine Pack that was wrapped to the left that was tied into a double knot with the tail was nautical knot tied into a Double Overhand Stopper Knot.
The mat and image panel were adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, along with the sailboat.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
