Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges 245 (SUOC245), where we are celebrating Spring. I created an Under My Umbrella shop your stash project. We would love for you to join us over at the challenge blog to participate and share your beautiful projects with us.
We are all out and about a lot, and sometimes, if you slow down a little bit, you can enjoy the beauty around you for inspiration; whether it be in a home goods store, online pages, or even a pattern on your clothing. That is where I garner the majority of my inspiration is from what my surroundings are. When I see an image, color or pattern that is not an obvious product, I “shop” what I have on hand and available to me, and recreate what I need to match my optical vision. I’ve even derived color inspiration from a bumper sticker … true story.
As you know, I’m a total minimalist. I combined products, bundles, and suites in this card for a very unique look. I created my own patterned paper from 3 stamps sets and 3 colors of ink for the umbrella tops, with a few techniques along the way. Let me know if you want me to showcase this for you in a video, as I would be more than happy to demonstrate to you the tweaked techniques. There are a few things that I would definitely refine.
There is so much interest to this card that I was able to create using Stampin’ Up! exclusive products and colors. The envelope is from a Paper Pumpkin, that is now retired, but I only kept this stamp set for the “staple” item of the envelopes; and you hear me talk about that a lot, as to how I decide to keep retiring products to a minimum. Again, no papercrafting “rules” were followed in this card, and it worked, which you’ve been seeing this month on my blog. The timeless classics never go out of style, which has really helped in my personal journey of being a minimalist. Anything you want to create at any time, is always found in Stampin’ Up! products.
I’ve been creating a lot of semi-monochromatic cards lately and this is another one with enough spice to keep it creatively fun.
