Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 298, where we have an animals and critters theme, and hope that you join us!
I don’t do cute as a general rule, but couldn’t resist this one. I received many Get Well cards using this stamp set that my friends sent me when I was literally down for 6 weeks with a broken leg.
I used our Stampin’ Blends to color the darling turtle image and added a lot of under the radar details to this clean and simple card.
As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.
I started out with an A2 top-folding card base and cut both of my designer series paper to size. I adhered the Mint Macaron to the woodgrain In Good Taste DSP with Tear & Tape Adhesive. I adhered the DSP to the card base with Seal at the left using the L corner of my Stamparatus to ensure even placement.
I stamped the image onto Basic White Thick CS with Smoky Slate – be sure to leave the image on the door or the Stamparatus – and colored in the image with Stampin’ Blends. I used the art lines in the image for the dark blends and colored in the rest with the coordinating light blend. The Color Lifter was used in the middle of the shell scales for contrast.
- Bottom shell: Soft Suede.
- Underbelly shell: Mint Macaron.
- Heat and legs: Soft Sea Foam.
I then inserted the CS back into the Stamparatus and inked it up with Memento Tuxedo Black to re-stamp. I then fussy cut the image. I pulled in our Layering Circles Dies and found the die-cut size that would provide the best ground and cut that from Basic White Regular CS that I embossed with the check EF from Checks & Dots.
The sentiments were stamped onto Basic Black CS with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder. I cut the sentiments to my desired size.
For final assembly, I arranged all of my elements on the card to mark out where I wanted to notch the left and right side of the card base to tie my Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine. The notches were punched with an old hand-held punch that is retired. You can use many of our die-cuts to do this for you with partial die-cutting.
I tied the twine and adhered the embossed circle image mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The turtle image was also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, as were the sentiments.
There is so much dimension and texture on this adorable card!
For the inside, I stamped the turtle image towards the right in Mint Macaron then cut and punched the sentiment panel that was adhered with a mini stapler on the left and Stampin’ Dimensional on the right.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
