Art Gallery + More Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Ink Layering on Vellum

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a project created with Art Gallery with an alcohol ink background created with Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends, a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with isopropyl alcohol, and my Heat Tool upon white print Vellum Layering Designs.

A lot of our new designer series paper features flow-y watercolor patterns and this is a great look without the fuss.

I featured a TUTORIAL on Monday on how I created this great background with our Stampin’ Blends and Layering Vellum Designs, which is how I created this faux messy watercolor look with alcohol markers. Again, if you want a video, please let me know, and I will film one or get around to a FB Live. I do much better with public speaking in front of a crowd vs. just me with no human interaction. It’s a weird thing … and I still haven’t jumped off that cliff yet to even try. Who wants to be my guinea pig?

I know you’ve seen a lot of black and gray projects lately, but I am in a creative drought right now and I always go neutral when I go there.

Oh, I’ve received a lot of emails about where I take my pictures. I take them in my kitchen by the window in front of a decorative scale.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started out with a different size of card this time of 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 with a Highland Heather top-folding card base.

I cut a piece of 6 x 6 Basic White Regular CS and an Adhesive Sheet down to that size and adhered the Adhesive Sheet to the Basic White CS. I peeled off the 2nd back to the Adhesive Sheet and layered on the vellum.

I opened up my Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend Marker and scribbled my way down from the top left corner to the right bottom. My Stampin’ Spritzer with isopropyl alcohol was liberally over the marker to get the ink fluid and moving around. I moved the ink around with my Heat Tool, as well. You have to keep the ink moving while you dry it at the same time or you can always let air dry.

I stamped the sentiment from Art Gallery onto Highland Heather CS in Versamark and heat embossed with our white powder. I used the coordinating sentiment cut from Floral Gallery Dies.

The more solid layer of the flower was stamped in Basic Gray ink with the detail layer in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic White Regular CS. The stem and leaves were also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I heat set both real fast and used a Basic Gray Watercolor Pencil to fill in the flower a bit more and smoothed the color out with a Blender Pen. I then cut the flower, stem, and leaves out from their coordinating die.

For final assembly, the sentiment and image were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied a bow with my favorite Black & White Gingham Ribbon and attached it where the stem meets the flower with a Mini Glue Dot.

The Paper Pumpkin sequins I’ve been working with all week were also added to this project as an embellishment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
