Color Theory + Background Stamping + Die-Cut Focal Points

Hello there! I went way old school with this card. I almost feel obligated to spike some pins from the center of the flowers. I’m playing around with what seems to be a favorite of mine, Flourishing Phrases. I’m focusing on the die-cuts from this stamp set today. What’s truly unique about this stamp set and dies is that none of the dies actually coordinate with the stamps. It’s mainly a sentiment set with a big flower, leaf, and a flourish. It’s honestly one of the most versatile products ever.

This card just happened. What I had on my brain did not materialize, so I winged it and hoped for the best. I’m on the fence. I love print patterns of type, cursive, newspaper, musical notes, etc. I used the new Handwritten background with Granite Gray onto Confetti White cardstock, which is another paper I haven’t used in forever. I pulled out ribbon in a color that is nowhere else on the card, but it works, sort of, and then I tossed in Soft Sea Foam for my foliage. There’s a lot of texture going on with strong, sharp geometrical shapes, and then curly, girly handwriting.

We all know the standard 2-3 colors and a neutral. If I have a primary close enough in hue, same color to me, and that’s how I got away with 5 on this one. Adding a bit of color push is the Gorgeous Grape large flower image that I stamped behind the die cluster.

The sentiments in this set are fantastic. I usually add the “Just a Note” to the front of every card, dress up the inside panel, and leave it blank to quickly customize.
