Hello there! Today’s project features using colored pencils on kraft cardstock.
This is a Soft Suede 5 x 3-3/4 top-folding card with a 4-3/4 x 3-1/2 Crumb Cake panel that was stamped with Basic Gray ink using images from Better With You (flower) and Daisy Delight (leaf and stem), colored in with pencils, and a die-cut sentiment from Stitched All Around. I love being able to take images from different sets to make my own. This was made to semi-mimic the flower and dies in the new Band Together Bundle available in June. The ribbon behind the die-cut sentiment is from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack of 3/8″ Linen Ribbon. This ribbon has fabulous texture and pliability, and is paired with Mossy Meadow Linen Thread in the combo pack, also available on June 4, 2019.
All of the images were stamped in Basic Gray. The petals were colored in with Whisper White and pulled out with a Blender Pen, as were the leaves with Coastal Cabana, allowing the colors to really jump out at you. The frames from Stitched All Around were die-cut from Crumb Cake and Coastal Cabana. The sentiment was heat embossed in Whisper White. I added Gold Faceted Gems for the stamen in the flowers.
There’s some good dimension to this card with the ribbon and sentiment panels. I hope this has inspired you to try using your pencils on colored cardstock. Thank you for stopping by to visit me today. Have a great day and God bless.

I love this look, Cindy! Kraft paper looks great as a nice change of pace. I have colored pencils around here somewhere…. have not used them in ages. This reminds me to find them!
