Gather Together Triple Tone Color Layering

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a triple tone color layering technique with Gather Together.

This card was super easy to make. I chose a Whisper White card base so that the fun colors of Lovely Lipstick, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Coastal Cabana really jump off the cardstock. I stamped the coordinating ink color onto the cardstock and heat set with clear embossing powder. This tone-on-tone look yields fantastic results. The punched leaves and sprigs from vellum soften the stark white and black splats I made from flicking the cap of a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. I had first tried with the marker mixed with water from an Aqua Painter, but it dulled to gray.

Fortunately, I was able to rescue this from the garbage can as flicking the ink is the last step before the sentiment, as you do want to avoid that area. The vellum was tucked between the leaves and using 2 different punches adds interest to the card.

First layer of color is the cardstock. The second layer is the coordinating ink heat embossed with clear powder to enhance the color, and the third layer is with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen. I used Melon Mambo to substitute Lovely Lipstick. The other cardstock colors have a coordinating watercolor pencil. This is a really pretty project in person where you can really see all of the colors.

I hope you enjoyed today’s quick project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day and God bless.
