Global Design Project #397 | Color Challenge

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Global Design Project #397, where there is a color challenge that I decided to play along with since I won last week’s challenge.

This was a challenging color combination and I brought in a dash of Old Olive and a lot of retired product that is currently available for you as part of my BOGO of the Brilliant Wings Dies and Natural Finish Ribbon.

There are also a lot of new and returning products used on this card of Online Exclusives Tropical Leaf for the sentiment and Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper. Give It a Whirl Dies were used for the sentiment, scalloped circle, and heart with the Meadow Dies used for the tag.

Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper was used for the image panel. I love this gigantic package of paper. It goes with everything and has a lot of patterns that I love.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

The first thing I did was to use Azure Afternoon and Berry Burst Ink Refills with our Water Painters and ink up a few panels of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and set them aside to dry.

I cut my card base to size and the piece of Glorious Gingham DSP in the large Blueberry Bushel gingham pattern to size. I then cut the notebook paper pattern from Delightfully Eclectic DSP to size and adhered that to the Blueberry Bushel DSP with Seal.

This is when I loosely placed the ribbon onto the back of the panels and firmly secured it with Scotch Tape. Tear & Tape was used to adhere the entire panel to the card base. The knot was tied during the final assembly process.

By this time, the watercolored panels were dry and I cut 2 different size butterflies out of both and a small butterfly from Basic White Regular CS. I cut the small butterfly in half and adhered the wings to the sides of the butterflies with liquid adhesive, then set these aside to work on the sentiment.

I die-cut the scalloped circle and circle in Old Olive and Basic White Regular CS from Give It a Whirl Dies. I stamped the sentiment onto the white CS circle with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then adhered it to the Old Olive CS with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut the tag die from Meadow from Basic White Regular CS, used a Small Blending Brush with leftover Granny Apple Green ink onto the tag, then ran it through the Exposed Brick 3D EF. A small heart from Give It a Whirl Dies was cut out of Blueberry Bushel CS and adhered to the tag with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

For final assembly, I knotted the ribbon to the far left and snipped the ends into a ‘V.’

I added a strip of Tear & Tape to the back of the butterflies and adhered them to the card base.

I added a length of Adhesive Foam Tape to the top and bottom of the sentiment and adhered that over the ribbon. I chose this adhesive because it’s a bit taller than Stampin’ Dimensionals and I knew I was going to need that.

I then pinned the tag to the center of the knot.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
