Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a sketch at Make the Cards Challenge 30 that I created with Celebrate Sunflowers and their coordinating Sunflowers Dies + the must-have staple of Tasteful Labels Dies to do another partial die-cut of my sentiment panel. This time, I shortened up the die rather than elongate the die, which you will be shown on Friday.
Sketches are my favorite way to jumpstart myself out of a rut, as are color challenges, and we hope that you join us today.
I decided to pull the Melon Mambo sentiment panel off and redo this in Gorgeous Grape. I needed to bring in the Highland Heather a bit more.
As always, your Supplies and Instructions are below.
I started out with a Basic Gray A2 card base and layered on the Balmy Blue square/diamond, which is my favorite, x3 on the left that I adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, and then corner-rounded the bottom with our Detailed Trio Punch.
I then die-cut the large sunflower with the solid die in Basic Gray CS and the line art die in Basic White CS, that I adhered together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and secured to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ‘celebrate you’ sentiment was stamped at the bottom left with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I stamped the sunflowers and leaves onto Basic White Thick x3 with Basic Gray ink, leaving the images on the door of my Stamparatus so that I could go back and re-stamp the Basic Gray CS to touch up the lines AFTER I colored the images in with my Stampin’ Blends Markers. The petals were colored with Polished Pink. The stamen, center of the flower, was colored with Highland Heather. The leaves were colored with Balmy Blue. I re-stamped all of the images as above and then cut with their coordinating dies from Sunflowers Dies.
I adhered the small sunflowers to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals with the leaves being adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
The sentiment was stamped onto Basic White CS in Gorgeous Grape. Remember, I did change that after I took the pictures and I need to be sure this post is up tomorrow. The sentiment was cut from the banner die in Tasteful Labels Dies and adhered to the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I do appreciate my unusual color combination for this card.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
