Make the Cards Challenge 53 – Ink Blended Backgrounds Mixed Media

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Make the Cards Challenge 53, where our theme is ink blending a background, and hope that you join us!

I went a little step beyond that. My colors were laid down with Blending Brushes onto book print to meet the ink blending challenge guidelines. Then, I sprayed 1 spritz to get the flow and splotch going, that I manipulated with my Water Painters and Heat Tool.

The book print is out of an old book that I use for this purpose.

You can also use our Vellum Layers DSP with an Adhesive Sheet and Basic White CS. To make this work, lightly scribble on a Stampin’ Blends alcohol marker, spritz the vellum with isopropyl alcohol, and use your Water Painter and Heat Tool to move the color around and dry.

These mini pages were designed for a junk journal that I’m currently designing for an art class.

There is really no articulation for this, as your results will always turn out significantly different. The key is knowing your color wheel so when you mix colors, you do not end up with mud.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
