Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Make the Cards Challenge 54, where we have a sketch challenge for you.
I used the new Hues of Happiness Suite Collection with Fabulous Frames and Stylish Shapes.
I created my own alcohol marker pattern with our black script-y vellum for the frame.
As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.
I started out with an A2 card base and layered on my designer series paper with liquid adhesive. The top is from Hues of Happiness with the center strip and bottom from Sun Prints Designer Series Paper. You are going to have to wing your measurements with this one, because it’s based on sight.
To create the watercolor frame, adhere a 6 x 6 Adhesive Sheet to Vellum Layering Designs and then to Basic White Thick CS. A few days ago, I made you a TUTORIAL as to how I achieved this with isopropyl alcohol, Stampin’ Blends, and our Heat Tool.
I cut the Fabulous Frames die from the Vellum Layering Designs paper and Basic White CS, that I embossed with the Merry Melody EF.
I adhered pieces of our Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the frame and adhered it to the card base.
Liquid adhesive was applied to the back of the Basic White CS and inlayed into the frame.
I stamped the sentiment from Happiness Abounds with Versamark onto Night of Navy CS that was heat embossed with white powder and cut from the 2nd largest banner from Stylish Shapes.
The rose and leaves were stamped onto Basic White Thick CS with Smoky Slate ink. Leave your images on the lid of your Stamparatus so you can re-stamp the images with your chosen ink color after coloring the image. I do this with Stampin’ Blends and Watercolor Pencils to 100% avoid smearing and crisp up the line art after coloring.
The leaves were colored with Granny Apple Green.
The rose was colored with a base of SU1000. These markers are not just for skin tones. I layered up my color using Light Gorgeous Grape first, blend that out with Dark Fresh Freesia, and then blend out again with Light Fresh Freesia. Both images were re-stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and cut from their coordinating dies.
For final assembly, I sized up my sentiment and images, which were adhered with our Foam Adhesive Strips. These are taller than Stampin’ Dimensionals and you want to keep your dimension equal.
To embellish, a large Daffodil Delight Glossy Dot was used as the stamen.
You will definitely be seeing more projects with all sorts of coloring mediums onto vellum.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
