Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Make the Cards Challenge 26, #MTCC26, where we are having a sketch challenge for you today in creating a slimline card, and hope that you join us.
How you make slimline card is to cut your Basic White Thick CS to 7 x 8-1/2 and score on the 7″ side at 3-1/2. It’s really that simple and I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve created this type of fold.
I also used one of my favorite new suite collections of the stunningly large and beautiful Painted Christmas, Item 156274, which is an awful lot like Painted Seasons a few years ago, that I just couldn’t put down. I used a lot of this suite collection to create this card.
As always, your Supplies and Instructions are below.
I started out with a left side-folding slimline card and layered on a piece of Painted Christmas DSP. I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to splatter on the ink texture.
Starting at 2-1/2″ up from the bottom, I adhered 3 DSP strips that were spaced 1/2″ apart from each other using my invaluable Stamparatus tool.
The solid pinecones from the Christmas Season Bundle, which is part of the Painted Christmas Suite Collection, were stamped x2 in Cinnamon Cider with Early Espresso for the detail layer. Both were cut from their coordinating Seasonal Labels Dies.
The little sprig was stamped with the stem in Early Espresso with the bulbs in Real Red ink and cut with its coordinating Seasonal Labels Dies.
The pinecones and sprig was adhered directly above the top DSP strip with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
The sentiment from the Christmas to Remember Bundle, which is part of the Painted Christmas Suite Collection, was stamped with Versamark ink onto a piece of Real Red CS, heat embossed with white powder, and cut from a coordinating Seasonal Labels Die frame, that was adhered to the card base with full-size Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A bow was tied with the suite’s Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2″ Metallic Ribbon, tucked and adhered to the right corner sentiment label with Tear & Tape. Two Gold Holly Leaves where adhered under the knot of the bow with Mini Glue Dots.
This was a very simple card to make and I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
