Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a Color Theory project created from the Marigold Moments Bundle on page 36 of the Spring Catalog.
I have my preferred colors and today’s project features 3 colors that I rarely use of Mango Melody, Rich Razzleberry, and Blackberry Bliss … and it all still boldly worked as a color combination that I’ve never put together.
I brought in the Amazing Thanks Dies for the bottom sentiment and a few Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels and Basic White Baker’s Twine to embellish, that I’ve been on a binge with lately. The Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder was brought in for a subtle effect atop of the card base for texture and interest.
The Season of Chic stamp set was used for the upper left sentiment of ‘You Are.” That is the phrase I was looking for + the font. Never hesitate to cut apart your stamps for an easy solution to get what you want without the hassle of masking, which I did here. Photopolymer or rubber, make a clean of a cut as possible with sharp scissors and it goes back together perfectly when you want to use the entire sentiment. I have also done the same with images. Make what you have work for you.
As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.
I started out with a Rich Razzleberry card base and cut the embossed panel to size. This was run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.
I adhered the embossed panel to the card base with Seal Adhesive and then went about stamping my images and sentiment.
I used my Paper Snips to cut apart my sentiment from Season of Chic and stamped that onto Basic White Regular CS then cut to size with using the Paper Trimmer.
I cut the outline of the Amazing die from Amazing Thanks from Basic White CS and the detail die-cut from Mango Melody CS and adhered them together with liquid adhesive.
I stamped all of the greenery images from the Marigold Moments stamp set onto Basic White Regular CS several times each with Old Olive ink and cut from their coordinating Marigold Moments Dies.
The solid large marigold flower cluster and the single flower was stamped onto Basic White Regular CS with Rich Razzleberry ink.
The detail marigold image was stamped atop of the Rich Razzleberry with Blackberry Bliss ink. I put the detail down twice and set it aside for a few minutes to let the ink dry + wing the end result after the ink dried if I needed another impression. I went ahead and put down a 3rd Blackberry Bliss detailed impression and achieved the amazing detail that I wanted.
The large marigold cluster and single image were cut from their coordinating dies after I let it dry for awhile. I would have heat set this real fast, as regal colors can be fussy messy; but, I had to salt up my sidewalk and porches from a freak rain, ice, snow storm that came in when my sunroof was open 2 days ago. The florals were cut from their coordinating dies.
For final assembly, I laid out my images and sentiments on a piece of Basic White Regular CS at the lower left corner to determine what size I need to cut my image panel to. I settled on 3 x 4-1/2 and winged where I wanted to wrap the Basic White Baker’s Twine around the panel. I used Scotch Tape to adhere the twine to the back and sneaked in a Mini Glue Dot under the knot of the bow at the far right. This panel was adhered to the lower right of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals for something less predictable.
The stem greenery was adhered to the floral cluster with a combination of liquid adhesive and Scotch Tape + Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the florals and the stems greenery that were adhered to the image panel.
I tucked in leaves under the right floral with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The ‘You Are’ sentiment was adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional at the top left of the image panel with another leaf on a Stampin’ Dimensional tucked under that.
I winged the placement of the die-cut ‘Amazing’ and added Stampin’ Dimensionals under the sentiment that I could not use liquid adhesive with to hold down.
One large and 2 small embellishments were adhered to the image panel to embellish.
For the inside of the card, I adhered the Mango Melody mat down with Seal Adhesive.
The sentiment was stamped in Mango Melody in at the bottom left. The stems were adhered with liquid adhesive with the marigold adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project that is packed with texture and dimension. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
