Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a Christmas card created with the Painted Christmas Suite Collection and a handmade ornament created with my Layering Circles Dies, Tailor Made Tags Dies, and Words of Cheer stamp set.
This suite reminds me of the exclusive Painted Seasons Suite Collection we had a few years ago, that I used a lot. I’ve linked my previous projects with this suite above for you.
As you know, I love to use non-traditional colors and designs, am a minimalist, and make what I have work for me, such as the ornament I created above from my various die-cuts. This card has a lot of layers and showcases how perfectly all of our greens work together, as do all of our products.
There’s always that ONE die-cut that you need, which is always nestled somewhere along the line if you look close enough at what you have with a little bit of imagination. This formula has worked for me for many years.
The image stamped on my Layering Circles ornament is from Words of Cheer with the ornament hanger from Tailor Made Tags Dies. You can also use the baby hanger from Baby Clothes Dies.
As always, your Supplies and Instructions, with measurements, are below.
I started out with an A2 top-folding Petal Pink card base and cut a piece of Basic White Regular for my image mat. I used one of the large leaf images to stamp directly onto the mat in Evening Evergreen at the top and Soft Succulent at the bottom.
HOWEVER, I colored in the stems with my Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Write Marker to direct ink image and used the ink spots from my Paper Pumpkin Kits (click to subscribe) to direct ink up the leaves. Those spots definitely come in handy and I use them frequently. This also adds value to all of our kits is that once of the consumables are used, you still have product leftover that you can use, whether it be embellishments, ribbon, twine, stencils, ink spots, etc. It’s something new every month.
I stamped the other leafy images from Painted Christmas in Soft Sea Foam, Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen; then cut from their coordinating dies from Seasonal Labels, all of which are part of the Painted Christmas Suite Collection.
I stamped the berries on the left were stamped with Petal Pink and the stem in Cinnamon Cider, then cut from its coordinating die.
I stamped the sentiment in Poppy Parade then with its coordinating die.
To incorporate the Cinnamon Cider in a little bit more, I cut a few large sprigs from Harvest Dies, which I have found to be another invaluable and versatile set of dies with a lot of stand-alone dies that can be used across the board.
I pre-arranged all of my dies on the card to size up how large of a Layering Circle that I wanted to cut for my ornament, then stamped the large floral image from Words of Cheer onto a piece of Petal Pink CS and die-cut. I cut the top of my ornament from a Gold Foil Sheet and Tailor Made Tag Dies that I attached to the top of the ornament with a piece of Tear & Tape.
As you can see, I really layered this card up with my arrangement. The foliage was adhered with liquid adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ornament and sentiment were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied a bow from Linen Thread and adhered this to the top of the ornament with a Mini Glue Dot.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the large 2-step pinecone at the bottom left in Soft Sea Foam and Soft Succulent and the sentiment in Poppy Parade.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
