Painted Poppies Bundle + Peaceful Moments Birthday Card

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for an alcohol marker colored birthday card created with the Painted Poppies Bundle and Peaceful Moments Cling Mount Stamp Set with a little twist on the overall presentation and texture.

This was a very easy and fun card to create, especially when I get to play around with color. As always, your Supplies and Instructions are below.

I started with an A2 Sahara Sand card base and trimmed 1-1/4″ off the right side. This is a great fun fold when you want a full-size card base, but are working with minimal images. For added texture and dimension, I adhered the large blotchy image onto our Clear Block D that I stamped all around the Sahara Sand top card base in our White Craft Ink. I adhered a piece of 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Basic White Regular to the inside of the card with the sentiment stamped under the Sahara Sand flap.

I colored the flower images from Painted Poppies that were stamped onto Basic White Thick with Smoky Slate ink to avoid the black ink smear and contaminating the tips of my alcohol markers, with the Pale Papaya and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends that I colored the images in with, left on the door of my Stamparatus, then re-inked and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I laid down the Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends first and added orangey highlights to the poppies with my Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends.

I heat set these images real fast to ensure that I could run the images through die-cutting machine … again, without smearing. This works like a charm every single time and I have several videos of this technique on my sorely neglected You Tube Channel.

The leaves were colored in with Just Jade Stampin’ Blends Markers. The flowers were adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals with the leaves adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The sentiment was stamped from Peaceful Moments in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder, then cut from the 2nd smallest Layering Circles frame. The left side of the sentiment was adhered with liquid glue with the middle adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I’m off to get some colorful window box flowers planted in the front of my little cottage. I’m going on 36 hours without rain and definitely taking advantage of this. It’s been a miserable summer thus far.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
