Painted Poppies, Very Versailles + Playful Alphabet Dies Sympathy Card

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a Painted Poppies + Very Versailles sympathy card. I do not enjoy making these types of cards, but they are necessary. This card is very clean and simple, easy to create, and appropriate for a sympathy card.

One thing I always do throughout the year is stick to our core product line from the Idea Book & Catalog, which is why I’m very careful about my seasonal selections. Two words: Budget and minimalist.

I have been using the Playful Alphabet Dies a lot lately for other projects that I am unable to feature here. For this card, I used the negative space from the dies for my main sentiment. As always, your shopping list and measurements are below.

I started out with a top-folding A2 card base in Smoky Slate and cut a piece of Regular Whisper White cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4 to layer on the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals AFTER stamping the sentiment from Very Versailles in Smoky Slate ink about an inch up from the bottom of the cardstock.

I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 4 x 1-1/8 and used the Playful Alphabet Dies to cut in the word HUGS; starting with the S first at the right side and working my way towards the left pretty tight so I could fit my Calypso Coral cardstock, stamped in Versamark and white heat embossed, then die-cut poppy using the coordinating dies of Painted Labels. I also stamped the small flower image with Versamark onto So Saffron cardstock, white heat embossed, then fussy cut the flower only to use as a stamen for the poppy.

I cut up little pieces of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered them to the back of the HUGS then placed on the Whisper White cardstock. I wrapped Linen Thread 3x above the HUGS and secured to the back of the panel with Scotch tape. I doubled up 2 lengths of Linen Thread, tied it into a bow, and used a little Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere to left of the HUGS sentiment. I placed the Calypso Coral poppy on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered it to the left on top of the Linen Thread. I did the same with the So Saffron stamen. I then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Whisper White panel and adhered it to the top of the Smoky Slate card base.

I scattered 3 small and 2 large white epoxy dots from All the Trimmings Embellishments around the die-cut sentiment.

This card is very dimensional layered up with full-size white Stampin’ Dimensionals and Black to adhere the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day and God bless.
