Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 289 ~ Christmas Inspiration

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 289, where our theme is Christmas Inspiration.

I am presenting this challenge to you in two ways of providing you with a few inspiration scenes for you OR choose anything that inspires you for Christmas, including your own work, CASEing (Copy and Share Everything) another designer, etc. We are going to be focusing on Christmas for the rest of the year, as we all have a tendency to get very busy about now and I like to keep things simple for you while creating what you really need for the holidays. You can use the colors, elements, whatever inspires you with the below pictures.

With that being said, we are lifting all restrictions on the challenge blog so that you can keep sharing your ideas with us!

Below are the 2 inspiration pictures I found for you.

The first picture reflects my personal style with the lovely plantation shutters, black and white buffalo plaid, and neutrals with pops of color.

Once again, I have used the fabulous Teneale Williams as inspiration for my project and used the Merriest Moments Bundle with the Peaceful Deer Bundle.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, with measurements, are below.

This is another fantastic masculine Christmas card to create, despite the florals, as the colors really define masculine.

I started out with a top-folding A2 Crumb Cake card base and cut a piece of Real Red CS down to dry emboss with the Merriest Frames EF, that displays the beautiful texture around the buffalo plaid DSP. The Real Red mat was adhered to the Crumb Cake card base with Seal.

I cut my black and white Buffalo Plaid pattern to 3 x 4 and set it aside to stamp the images and sentiment + scalloped borders. This mat will be adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals when it’s time to assemble the card.

I stamped the large flower from Merriest Moments onto a piece of Basic White Regular CS 4x in Real Red ink using my Stamparatus. Anytime I need an even number of an image, I cut the CS into a square piece so I can simply rotate the CS in my Stamparatus for a perfect image every time and to maximize use of my CS. The stamen was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. All of the flowers were cut from the coordinating Merriest Frames Dies, staggered by petals, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to each other.

We will be adhering the flowers to the Buffalo Plaid in a few minutes together with the sentiment and Basic White Baker’s Twine so that it all looks optically cohesive.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Crumb Cake CS and cut with a frame from Ornate Frames. I then cut several lengths of Basic Black CS from the stitched scalloped die from Penned Flowers to frame my frame with, that was adhered together with Tear and Tape. The entire sentiment was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals during assembly.

How I assembled the card was in the below order.

  1. Arrange images and sentiment on the Buffalo Plaid DSP panel and figure out where you want your Basic White Baker’s Twine to tie in the center.
  2. The Buffalo Plaid DSP is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Real Red mat.
  3. The bottom flower of both arrangements is adhered with liquid adhesive with the top flower staggered adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional. In the meantime, I’m placing and lining everything up.
  4. The bottom right flower was adhered in the same way as above.
  5. Liquid adhesive was added to the top left and bottom right of the Basic Black stitched scallop die from Penned Flowers with 3 Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center of the Crumb Cake framed sentiment, so that it all lies in an even and aesthetically pleasing manner, as shown above.
  6. Scatter about 5 Rhinestone Basic Jewels in various sizes on the Buffalo Plaid DSP.

The inside of the card was created much like the card front. I brought in the Peaceful Deer Bundle to stamp the deer with in Real Red to punch out.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. We would love for you to share with us what you’ve created and hope that you join us!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!

  1. I just love this card Cindy! The embossed panel in red peeking through behind the gingham with the poop of colour from the poinsettias is fabulous and the inside is just as beautiful!
