Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a really old school technique of stamping in White Craft Ink with smaller stamps to accent and a 2-tone sentiment colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers. So easy, yet adds a little punch to an otherwise clean and simple card.
I decided to use the delightful Pampered Pets Bundle to make a birthday card for my cousin, who has a Yorkie.
Adding images or a sentiment to a tag is a great focal point and there’s all sorts of ways you can dress that up with different accessories. I have been using some different measurements lately for my mats and layers, just for something a little different.
As always, your Supplies and Instructions are listed below.
I started out with an A2 card base and cut a piece of Gray Granite CS as an image and sentiment mat.
I always stamp images that I’m going to color in with Smoky Slate ink, color, and then re-stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink to crisp up the line art. The dog was stamped onto Basic White Thick and colored in with a Basic Black Watercolor Pencil and blended out with a Blender Pen. The nose was lightly colored in with an Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil. The collar was colored in with a Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend Marker and then cut with it’s coordinating die from the Pampered Pets Bundle. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Yorkie.
I cut a piece of Basic White Regular CS to punch for the image panel and tied the Real Red ribbon through the tag and adhered the back of the ribbon over the top of the Gray Granite CS with a piece of Scotch tape. I then adhered the dog to the tag.
I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the tag and then winged it where the tag was going to land on the card front to stamp the dog bowl 3x in Basic White Craft Ink across the image panel; also taking into consideration the sentiment I had chosen to make sure I had enough space for that to where the card balanced out.
The sentiment was colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers in Basic Black and Real Red.
Stampin’ Dimensionals were added to the back of the image panel and adhered to the card base.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
