Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a card made with Positive Thoughts for SUO Challenges 255: Designer’s Choice and hope that you join us.
Also, the new Holiday Catalog is live that you can order from + a new storefront!
Positive Thoughts with the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts Dies is my new Painted Seasons, which was one of my favorites before it retired. Several techniques were used creating this card of embossing, die-cutting, mixing neutrals, and rock ‘n roll.
I have acquired a healthy collection of ink cubes from Paper Pumpkin and used these to roll on the edges of my images to accentuate the them, known as the rock ‘n roll technique. This technique adds a lot of texture and dimension to your images.
I started out with a Thick Very Vanilla card base, dry embossed the Woodland folder onto a piece of Regular Very Vanilla cardstock, and layered on the large sunflower in the Sunflowers Dies with Regular Whisper White cardstock towards the center right of the card. Then I contrasted Crumb Cake cardstock using the frame die-cut from Nature’s Thoughts Dies and die-cut the center of the die out with a Stitched Rectangle, and adhered to the card base with Tear & Tape.
The large fern images were stamped in Granny Apple Green rolled with Old Olive and Petal Pink rolled with Rococo Rose. The butterfly was stamped with Daffodil Delight and rolled with Bumblebee. The feathers were stamped in Pumpkin Pie and rolled with Terracotta Tile. The flower was stamped in Highland Heather and rolled in Gorgeous Grape. The oval tag from Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies was cut from Regular Whisper White and the edges were inked with Pear Pizzazz. I doubled up the Linen Thread, tied a bow through the tag, and let the tails cascade down the card. The butterfly, feathers, and flower were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and will join us over at the challenge site.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day and God bless.
