SUOC #352 | Textures and Patterns | Mix It Up!

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge #352, where our theme is to get a bit grungy and dirty, to use multiple textures, patterns, stripes, plaids, dots, designer series paper, a fun out of the box, and step it up challenge where you have complete creativity and control. In other words, just some playtime.

I’m using a Concept Art card on page 67 in the Annual Catalog featuring the Tune In Bundle. This is a super fresh retro bundle with a 50|60s style television.

Today’s colors are Peach Pie, Shaded Spruce, and Gray Granite using Pumpkin Pie with Shaded Spruce Ink Refills onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper to water brush the television and shaker TV screen inserts. Multiple standalone die-cuts were used to accentuate the design.

PLEASE NOTE: This week’s video will be available on Thursday.

As always, project specific supplies with basic supplies are below.

I started out with a landscape A2 Basic White Thick CS base and layered on two Peach Pie patterns from the 2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 DSP with liquid adhesive.

I then went about watercoloring the television and accessories with Pumpkin Pie Ink Refill and a Water Painter onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with a little bit of Shaded Spruce for the inside bars of the shaker card ‘guts.’ I set the watercolor paper aside to dry naturally.

I went about die-cutting several of the standalone dies from Tune In from Shaded Spruce, Gray Granite, and Basic White Regular CS.

The retro television and inside bars were cut from the Tune In Dies out of the watercoloring that I did earlier and set these pieces aside for a moment.

The inside of the TV was cut from Basic White Regular CS and adhered to the card base with liquid adhesive. The bars were adhered directly to the inside with liquid adhesive. I added clear sequins and diamond-shaped die-cuts atop of the inside of the TV bars.

I added a Window Sheet, which I left out of the supplies, to the back of the large TV that was adhered onto the inside of the TV with Adhesive Strips to make this a shaker card. The antenna was adhered atop of the TV with Black Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, as was the television dials and speaker at the bottom.

I stamped the sentiment from Tune In onto a piece of Peach Pie CS with Versamark, heat set with white powder, and cut from a circle Stylish Shapes Die.

For final assembly, the sentiment circle was adhered to the card with liquid adhesive, as were the standalone die-cuts. Wild Wheat 2023-2025 In Color Dots were used to embellish.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
