Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge #355 where we have a color challenge of red, white, and blue, and hope that you join us! I worked my card to a patriotic theme.
This was really easy to make with embossing, tearing, distressing, and a little heat embossing. This would also be a great card for a veteran or service member.
I used the retired Give It a Whirl Dies, which I consider a staple and keep on board with its various shapes of stitched hearts, stars, clouds, and frames. You can usually find retired items on the Clearance Rack OR through my Buy One, Get One deals.
As always, project specific supplies with basic supplies are below.
I started out with an A2 landscape Crumb Cake card base and distressed with edges with a Sponge Dauber and Crumb Cake ink.
I cut Real Red, Very Vanilla, and Night of Navy CS into strips and embossed the Real Red with Basics EF, Birch Wood (available September 2024 Holiday Catalog) and Very Vanilla CS, then die-cut the stars from Night of Navy using the star dies from Give It a Whirl, as shown above.
I tore the top and bottom of the card stock and distressed all sides.
The Night of Navy stars were adhered to the card stock with liquid adhesive.
I also cut a few more stars from Real Red CS.
The sentiment from Softly Said (Online Exclusive) was stamped onto Very Vanilla CS with Versamark ink and heat set with gold powder. The sentiment and Crumb Cake mat were torn, distressed, and adhered together with liquid adhesive + the Real Red small star.
For final assembly, I adhered the panels to the card base with liquid adhesive. I tied a large Linen Thread bow and adhered it to the back of the sentiment panel that was then adhered to the card base with Black Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
