Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a sweet tag card created with the Sweet Stockings Suite Collection + 2 of our stencils, that I really need to pay more attention to. Stencils afford you the look that mimics background stamps at a very friendly price point. We currently have 3 different stencil packs available, totaling 12 stencils, each with a uniquely beautiful pattern.
As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, with measurements are below. Honestly, you know a lot of the measuring is more of a winging it thing for your presentation and as you build upon your card.
I love using nontraditional colors of Pool Party and Basic Gray for Christmas. And … there’s no hard and fast rule that your sentiment must be on the front. Surprisingly enough, I brushed on Smoky Slate ink onto the darker color of Basic Gray, that turned out great and really softened up the card a bit.
This would be a great masculine Christmas card without the bow.
I started out with a top-folding A2 Basic Gray card base. I pulled in the polka dot stencil from Basic Patterns Decorative Masks and used our fabulous Blending Brushes to brush on Smoky Slate ink. If you’re after exact measurements, count the dot rows up to give you a good jumping point. I cut a zig zag from Basic Borders Dies out of Basic Gray CS and adhered that directly above the polka dots with liquid adhesive.
I then cut a 4″ piece of Basic White Regular zig zag from Basic Borders Dies and cut in half at 2″, which is the width of the tag.
I then moved onto the tag and stamped the stocking onto Basic White Thick CS with Smoky Slate ink. You always want to use our Basic White Thick CS when you are coloring with our Stampin’ Blends AND leave your image on the door of your Stamparatus to re-stamp after coloring. I have a ton of videos on this technique and the difference it makes to crisp up your lines and prevent ink bleeding, that can be found at my You Tube Channel.
I colored in the stocking with a Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend Marker. I put the image back into the Stamparatus and re-stamped the image with Smoky Slate ink. I used the coordinating Stockings Dies to cut this out. I added 5 small Matte Decorative Dots in the ombre blue across the stocking and put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the stocking.
After I cut my tag, I brushed on Smoky Slate ink in the 4-diamond pattern from one of our seasonal packages currently in the Holiday Catalog of Adorning Designs Decorative Masks. I brought back in the polka dot pattern stencil from Basic Patterns Decorative Masks and brushed that on. I then adhered the Basic White Regular CS zig zag to the tag with liquid adhesive. The tag was adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added dimensionals to the back of the stocking to adhere to the tag for a multidimensional look.
I put a Mini Glue Dot at the top of the tag and laid a piece of Basic White Baker’s Twine diagonally. I then tied a bow from Pool Party Striped Grosgrain Ribbbon and adhered this over the twine.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. What do you think? Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
