Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for three sympathy cards created from Lovely & Sweet stamp set from the Annual Catalog with Comforting Thoughts and Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper.
I wanted to pop in outside of my usual schedule and feel bad that my Facebook Live wasn’t live yesterday.
I absolutely dislike making sympathy cards but had to do it. The Comforting Thoughts stamp set, which is one of our Online Exclusives, is perfect for this and addresses anybody who is grieving or received a diagnosis with over 14 sentiments. I’m happy this one is going to be around for awhile because this is just part of life.
I wanted to keep these cards tasteful and think I achieved that with heat embossing the image and sentiment with two different powders.
So often, we forget that we can heat emboss on our specialty and designer series paper.
The Banner punch and Crimper are both retired that I’ve kept on board as I consider them craft staples, as well as the Stapler and Vellum CS that was used to complete these projects.
All three cards mirror each other with only changing the sentiment and using the solid side of the 3 colors in the Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper of Copper Clay, Lost Lagoon, and Pebbled Path.
As always, project specific supplies with basic supplies are below.
CARD MEASUREMENTS:
- Card base: A2 top-folding 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, Basic White Thick CS.
- Image panel: 3-1/4 x 4-1/8, Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper.
- Crimped panel: 4 x 1, Crumb Cake CS.
- Sentiment panel: 3-1/2 x 1, Vellum CS.
I started out with an A2 card base, cut my image panels down to size, and used white powder to emboss the large floral image from Lovely & Sweet onto the image panel.
The sentiments were stamped on Vellum CS using gold powder to heat emboss.
Assembly was easy with Seal to adhere the image panel and Tear & Tape for the Crumb Cake banner. The Vellum sentiment was stapled to the card at the left with a Linen Thread x2 bow.
Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems and Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels were used to embellish.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
