Texture Die-Cut Focal Element

Hello there! Today I have a card for you where I made the background panel a focal element. You can either use your mean math skills or grid paper to measure. How I achieved this look was using Thick Whisper White cardstock, the heart die-cut from Support Ribbon Framelits, and Pinewood Planks embossing folder. The key is to dry emboss AFTER you die-cut to get the crisp, raised lines from the embossing folder. Your eye is automatically drawn to the colored image and die-cut panel as they are nested together. It’s not overwhelming since I have a very strong neutral in white to offset the rich image.

This is a top-folding A2-size card and was so very easy to make. I like to build up my watercolors and lay them on top of each other for depth. You can heat dry or natural dry. I prefer naturally. Heat will fade your color. I was sure to cut the edges of the die-cut panel so that a strip of thin foam adhesive could easily be adhered to the back.

I had a little bit of glimmer spritz and used that to shine up the card. I always keep sequins and used the Iridescent Sequin Assortment. Be sure to check the Retiring/Clearance Rack at my store to pick up these great embellishments at over 50% off. Below is the inside of my card, keeping it short and sweet, using the new Floral Frames stamp set. I had originally wanted to use one of the frames for my sentiment, but it didn’t fit the scale of my design.

Thank you so very much for stopping by to visit me today. Have a great day and God bless.
