Textured Floral | Something Fancy | Ink Blending | Create Your Own Shimmer Mist

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a project created from the Textured Floral Bundle and Something Fancy Bundle. I also brought in a small butterfly image from the newly retired Butterfly Brilliance, that will sadly be going into my BOGO pile.

Ink blending with a stencil and freehand + dry and heat embossing are just some of the techniques used on this card. There’s a lot going on.

Tucked under the embossed panel is a woodgrain piece of the upcoming new July Online Exclusives in the One Horse Open Sleigh Suite Collection, which is amazing. Light pastel colors with colored Pool Party seam binding ribbon complete the project.

I created my own shimmer spray to use on the sentiment tag that I’ll share with you how to make.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started out with my card base, laid my stencil from Foursquare atop, secured that down with low-tack tape, then inked up a Blending Brush with Fresh Freesia laying down the color. You always want to tap the brush off a few times to see what color you’re going to get before taking it over to your project to start blending from the outside in to avoid smudging. After I stenciled the front, I rounded the bottom corners.

I cut the image panel from Countryside Corners Dies and cut in one of the stand-alone dies from Textured Floral Dies then ran it through the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. I cut a piece of the new One Horse Open Sleigh dark woodgrain DSP and adhered it behind the cut in die. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of this panel and adhered it to the card front.

I then went to work on the sentiment tag that was cut from the small scallop top die from Something Fancy from Basic White Regular CS. I inked up a Small Blending Brush with Granny Apple Green and blended that up in an ombre fashion from the bottom. I heat set the ink real quick on low to dry. I used an Embossing Buddy over the entire tag before I stamped the butterfly on with Versamark and heat embossed that with white powder. To clean off the Embossing Buddy, I take a Swiffer Wipe over the top, which also brightens up the card stock.

To make my shimmer spray, I took an empty Stampin’ Spritzer and emptied a Wink of Stella Pen to about halfway up with the rest equal parts of water an isopropyl alcohol. Shake it up good and then spray your project. I almost immediately used a paper towel to dab off the mist because I knew the alcohol mixed in would remove the ink to give it a mottled appearance, as you can see above and below. My sentiment is from Something Fancy that was stamped onto Basic White Regular CS with Highland Heather ink and cut from a coordinating Something Fancy Die that was adhered at the bottom of the tag with liquid adhesive.

For the flowers, stamen, and leaves, these were stamped in Pool Party and Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, and Granny Apple Green, respectively, then cut from their coordinating dies.

For final assembly, the tag was adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionls. I colored a piece of seam binding ribbon with a Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend and tied that around the card bringing the ends up through the hole in the tag and bowed.

I tucked the large Pool Party flower adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals up under the tag with the stamen adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Highland Heather flower at the top right was also adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Five blue pastel sequins were used to further embellish.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
