Trimming the Town Suite Collection Christmas Shaker Card

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a Christmas shaker card created with the Trimming the Town Suite Collection.

Everybody loves shaker cards and they are easy to make. I have instruction videos on how to make a shaker card HERE and HERE. I also have a video on stacking die-cuts to make a shaker card without using foam adhesive HERE. There are a few ways to make shaker cards.

As always, your shopping list and instructions are below. I started out with a Thick Whisper White card base and cut a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8. I die-cut a 2-1/2″ into the Smoky Slate cardstock about 2/3 of the way down and towards the right side. I then adhered a 3 x 3 Window Sheet to the back of the Smoky Slate. For the inside back layer of the shaker card, I used the same Layering Circle Dies at 2-1/2″ to cut a circle from Pool Party cardstock and stamped the snow image in Pool Party ink onto the circle die-cut. I also stamped this image with Pool Party ink onto the Smoky Slate mat and Whisper White sentiment slope. I die-cut the slope of trees from Old Olive cardstock and set aside. I also stamped the house from Coming Home onto Smoky Slate cardstock with Smoky Slate ink and die-cut.

I then measured up, read eyeball, how far up I wanted to die-cut in the slope with Regular Whisper White cardstock. It’s better to cut too much than too little. You can always trim off the bottom. I stamped Merry in Memento Tuxedo Black from Celebration Tidings and then die-cut from Basic Black cardstock the word Christmas from Word Wishes Dies.

To build the shaker card, I put adhesive on the back of the Pool Party circle, lined it up with the die-cut circle from the Smoky Slate cardstock, and then laid it down on the card base to line it. I added Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the Smoky Slate panel, taking special card to tightly outline the circle Window Sheet so my shaker snowflakes would stay within the circle. Leave the Foam Adhesive backing on for now.

After adding Snowflake Sequins to the center of the Pool Party circle, I peeled off the Foam Adhesive backing, centered up the panel onto the card base, and adhered. That is the base of our shaker card.

I cut two of the Old Olive trees from the slope that we die-cut earlier and adhered them to the back of the sentiment panel with Liquid Adhesive after figuring out placement. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment panel and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the trees, and adhered to the card base. I put a few Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the house’s top half and Liquid Adhesive to the lower half, then adhered to the sentiment panel and card base off towards the right side of the card. I scattered about 3 Bumblebee star All the Trimmings Embellishments to brighten the card up.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. I hope you enjoyed today’s shaker card. Have a great day and God bless.
