Hello there y’all! Today’s project features the use of seasonal designer series paper (DSP) for a clean and simple Halloween card appropriate for all ages. We all have way too much DSP on board. It’s so pretty and we don’t want to use it, right? Very bad habit. Seasonal DSP is usually current for 4-5 months and this year, I’ve committed to use it all up.
There are many ways to deplete your stock; such as using DSP for wrapping paper, covering a purchased gift bag, making your own gift bag, or using it to cover a card front, which is what I did here. I cut down the DSP into 3/4″ to 1″ strips and arranged them on my card front. For this particular card, I do wish I had the set in front of me before I secured down the DSP. I would have used the used the cluster star image in Crushed Curry to fill in where I left the small white space and knotted the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon, which would have peeked through and beautifully and compliment the ribbon and Spider Trinket.
My previous blog post focused on accessories and embellishments. In this case, if I had stamped the Crushed Curry cluster star image, that would have been more of a focal element since I created it on the card stock and accented with the accessories. I do not have a hard and fast rule on this. I just make it work. What are your thoughts?
I hope that you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. God bless and have a great day!
