Hello there y’all! I’m just going to throw it out that I’m not happy how this turned out at all. There’s just too much going on with it. I can make this work if I change the colors, so this is a definite re-do to Mango Melody, Poppy Parade, and I’m kicking around either Grapefruit Grove or Fresh Fig as my 3rd color.
My now thought process is the Annual Catalog my best friend. I’ve been so set specific neglecting other theme products to incorporate. This card features the Quit Top embossing folder, Burlap background, and Starburst punch, which would have worked, if I had used Thick Very Vanilla to soften the deep embossing for more of a die dry embossing look. On the Burlap panel, I should have used Versamark rather than Balmy Blue for my impression. On the Starburst circle, I actually stamped off Sahara Sand twice and still got a strong impression. The large Highland Heather flower in the middle has a wood button from Tropical Elements that is the same shape as the flower. A good option would have been Frosted Flower Embellishments. The Silver & Petal Pink Baker’s Twine is was an afterthought. We have a tendency to keep products suite specific, which boxes the creativity process. I used Soft Sea Foam on the stamped and die-cut leaves. A few of the petals fell out of the framelit and I like the semi-messy look. I tucked the “fallout” petals under a few smaller flowers. This is a 4 x 6 card because I just felt like doing something different.
What I did wrong was using too much and the colors. My eye doesn’t know where to settle and it’s chaotic. I would love to hear about your thoughts on this. This is one of those things that will drive you nuts until you get it right.
Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. Have a great day and God bless.
